The only attorney in California to participate in all three individual tobacco cases to go to trial since the 1998 Amendment of Civil Code Section 1714.45 removed the decade-long immunity previously enjoyed by the tobacco companies.  

Boeken v. Philip Morris Incorporated, Los Angeles County Superior Court No. 226593; Whiteley v. Philip Morris Incorporated, San Francisco Superior Court No. 303184; and Henley v. Philip Morris Incorporated, San Francisco Superior Court No. 995172. These three plaintiff jury verdicts (including punitive damages) total more than $150,000,000.  Previously, in 1995, Horowitz v. Lorillard Tobacco Company, et al., San Francisco Superior Court No. 983642, the first plaintiff verdict against Lorillard for asbestos disease caused by the Micronite filter.

Bullock has been removed twice to Federal Court.
In a hearing March 12, 2002, Bullock v PM
was (once again) remanded to Los Angeles Superior Court.
A trial date of May 29, 2002 was set.
